    Brian Buggy OA, 8 October 1939 - 30 July 2024 

    Brian started his career as principal trumpeter with the Borovansky Australian Ballet and continued with J.C. Williamson’s as Musical Director at the age of twenty-one with Bye Bye Birdie and went on to conduct shows for them until its closure in 1976. The Wiz. Oliver!, Half A Sixpence, Man of La Mancha, I Do, I Do, No No Nanette, Pippin and Irene were just some of the shows he worked on. He then went on to have an illustrious time conducting concerts for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and for the Sydney Youth Symphony Philharmonia. He was awarded the Order of Australia in 1998 and was loved and admired by everyone he worked with.
